midom is not a bank and moves no real money.

  • Parents stay the actual holders of the money.
  • Every balance is calculated from a history that is never erased.
  • Children have no account, email or password.
The two currencies

Money and points, deliberately separate.

Not everything a child does at home deserves to be paid. midom keeps money and points as distinct currencies so you decide which is which — without the product implying that making the bed is worth money.

Money

What you actually owe: the weekly allowance, a paid extra job. In your country's currency.

Points

Earned from everyday responsibilities. Redeemed for privileges and experiences from your family's catalog. Never converted to money.

The loop

Earn, save, decide — and see the consequence.

This is the heart of midom: not an allowance ledger, but the full loop that teaches waiting and choosing.

  1. 1

    Earn

The child finishes a task. You approve it, or approval isn't needed. The balance goes up instantly.

  2. 2

    Save

They set one goal — sneakers, a game — and watch progress as a percentage of what they already have.

  3. 3

    Decide

They want something in a store. Before confirming, midom shows them: “your goal drops from 48% to 38%.”

  4. 4

    Spend

You log the purchase from your phone, with an amount and an optional note. Balance and goal update on their own.

  5. 5

    See the consequence

Goal progress visibly changes. No lecture. The next decision is made with that experience in hand.

“If you buy this, your goal drops from 48% to 38%.”
A visible trade-off, never a block or a lecture. The child decides — and sees the result.
How it works

Five minutes to set up. Then it runs itself.

01

Create your family and your kids

One profile per child, managed by you. No emails or passwords for them.

02

Build the tasks

Name, icon, who does it and how often. The reward: points or money. With or without your approval.

03

Allowance pays itself

Set a fixed amount and a day. midom credits it every week without you lifting a finger.

04

Everything is on the record

Every unit of money and every point is an entry with a date and a reason. The balance is the sum. Nothing is overwritten.

Rocky

Rocky keeps them company. Never scolds.

Rocky is the child's companion, not an authority figure. He celebrates, explains and encourages. Miss a task and you simply earned nothing that time — Rocky doesn't make you feel bad, doesn't punish, doesn't express disappointment. It's a product rule, written into the code, not a style choice.

Privacy

Designed around a minor's data.

midom is used with children, and its core mechanic is a record of what a child did, earned and spent. That kind of data deserves the most conservative default, not the most convenient one.

  • Product analytics, never identity: no names, no amounts, no descriptions.
Questions

What parents ask.

Does midom hold my money?

No. midom is not a bank or a wallet. It's a shared record: parents still hold the money, midom keeps track of what belongs to each child.

Do my kids need a phone?

No. midom runs on your phone with a PIN-protected mode switch, or on a family tablet. A child has no account of their own.

Which countries is it for?

We're starting in Mexico, in pesos. Write to [email protected] if you'd like it in another country.

What happens if I stop paying for midom Familia?

Nothing is deleted. Your kids, tasks and history stay. Only the Familia-plan features are paused.

How do I delete my account?

In the app: profile switch → Delete account. Everything for your family is erased. Details are on the “Delete your account” page.

The allowance ritual is back — and now they can see it.
